- capable of causing excision to native species !!!

Why?
- invasive species often lack natural predators
- they out-compete native species for resources
- They can destroy crops/soils, and clog water facilities and waterways.
- transmit diseases

How does this happen?
- often released/introduced accidentally by people
- intentional/accidental releases of aquaculture/aquarium species, bait, etc.
- transfer through water in ship ballasts.
